Read about the bundled wind power project in Karnataka and Maharashtra, India, and its role in replacing fossil-fuel electricity generation.

This project supports renewable energy production throughout the Karnataka and Maharashtra states in India using 12 wind turbine generators. Together these 1.25MW turbines produce an energy capacity of 15 MW across the different sites.
As a renewable energy resource, the power generated has no attributed green house gases and by displacing an equivalent amount of power from a fossil fuelled source, results in a reduction of green house gases. The project is estimated to achieve greenhouse gas reductions of 33,019 tCO2e annually.
These wind turbines generate electricity which will help improve energy security in India, which is currently facing a peak power shortage of 11.70%. Since the energy produced is from a renewable resource the project will also help contribute towards India's target of 60GW of wind power capacity by 2022. The project provides employment to the regions and encourage further investment in wind power projects. By using indigenous technology to construct the turbines, the project also encourages further research and development into more efficient and sustainable energy sources.
